Videos of the DemandAT WorkshopTrafficking for Severe Labour Exploitation in Europe
The workshop on 'Trafficking for Severe Labour Exploitation in Europe: Addressing Demand' took place on the 12 and 13 of October 2016 at the European University Institute.
It brought together researchers, international organizations and key stakeholders from different sectors (Trade Unions and Labour Inspection) to discuss the challenges in responding to trafficking in different labour sectors, in particular in addressing demand.
The first day focused on trafficking in the domestic work sector. It was an opportunity to discuss the key findings from the study conducted by a EUI research team on the demand-side of trafficking in domestic work. The second day provided a multi-sectoral perspective on the issue of preventing trafficking. The speakers highlighted some promising practices and strategies undertaken to prevent trafficking for labour exploitation.
Watch the videos here. Listen to Klara Skrivankova from Anti-Slavery International provide examples of trafficking for labour exploitation in domestic work taking place in Europe. Watch others, including Anna Triandafyllidou from the European University Institute and Roger PLant from the Issara Institute, reflect on some of the research findings on how this problem can be addressed.
