Upholding Rights: Early Legal intervention for Victims of Trafficking Report out now
23 February 2015
A comparative study on early legal intervention was published Monday 16th February 2015. The study brought together researchers to analyse legal mechanisms across 6 EU Member States with a view to re-balancing these to better support victims of trafficking. The organisations involved in the Early Legal Intervention project were: the Immigrant Council of Ireland, the Legal Services Agency, Scotland, AIRE London, MONIKA, Finland, BGRF Bulgaria, KSPSC Lithuania and the Centre for Women war Victims, Croatia.
The report argues for better provision of legal representation for trafficked persons and identifies gaps in training, services, identification criteria and procedures that it argues should be standardised.
