UNODC Trafficking in Persons report out

The UN ODC's Global Report on Trafficking in Persons is published this December.  The report covers 136 countries and provides an overview of patterns and flows of trafficking in persons at global, regional and national levels, based primarily on trafficking cases detected between 2012 and 2014. The UNODC has been systematically collecting data on trafficking in persons for more than a decade, trend information is presented for a broad range of indicators. The report includes a chapter on the impact of migration on people's vulnerability to trafficking. The foreword by Yury Fedotov, notes that while many more countries have criminalised trafficking - a 'huge imrpovement' from 18-88% since 2003, conviction rates under this legislation remain far too low
